Early Learning Center
Hooper Academy Early Learning Center provides services for children ages 6 weeks to PK4, Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. Our age-appropriate curriculum and instruction focuses on the whole child.
We believe that a wholesome, safe, Christian environment provides a family-like learning opportunity. Children are placed in classrooms where they are age appropriate, and we can best meet their developmental needs. We strive for a happy, well-rounded and adjusted child.
PK4 uses the Abeka Program, while PK2 and PK3 use a modified Abeka/Thematic Approach to instruction. Many added arts and crafts are incorporated into the curriculum at all age levels.
Hooper Early Learning Center is located in the Harold and Louise Newell Building on the campus of Hooper Academy. Licensed by the State of Alabama for over twenty years, we pride ourselves on our welcoming, friendly atmosphere and our nurturing environment.
We offer a quality program with unconditional love and care for each child. Our center provides structured schedules which promote each child's physical, emotional, intellectual, language, and motor skills development.
Our full-service lunch staff provides a hot, well-balanced lunch everyday along with two snacks.
In addition, the ELC offers a family resource room which provides resources related to health and development, child development, and community resources. Information is available to you to take with you. If you need something that is not available in this room, please let us know and we will be happy to help you find it. Books and educational games are available for you to check out, and we also provide access to the internet for you to use. A sign up sheet is available in the office.
