October is Socktober!

October is Socktober!

Each night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, Miss Meredith's second grade class is coordinating a school-wide sock drive on behalf of homeless shelters in Alabama to show that even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.

Socks are the most needed, but least donated, article of clothing in homeless shelters. So, second grade is challenging the ENTIRE school to help collect as many socks as possible this month. Their goal is 500 pairs of NEW socks (any size or color) by the end of October. Please help second grade reach their goal and collect new socks for those in need.

Socks may be dropped off with your homeroom teacher or brought to Miss Meredith's classroom.

Thank you for your generosity!
