Weekly Update | August 5, 2021

We are looking forward to the first day of school Friday, August 6th.  Students may enter the building at 7:40 once their temperature is taken.  We will dismiss at noon.

 

All accounts including lunchroom balances must be current in order for students to start classes on August 6th.

 

Upper School (7th-12th)  Open House Information

We will have Open House for 7th -12th grade students and their parents on Thursday, August 5th starting at 6:00 pm. We will be checking temperatures prior to entry. Parents and students will enter through the front door of the main building.  Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or above will not be allowed to enter the building.       

A paper copy will be available for pick up between 5:45-6:15 on Thursday, August 5th at the following locations:  

  • 7th Grade:  Mrs. Renee Nelson Room 11
  • 8th Grade:   Mr. Armstrong Room 13 
  • 9th Grade:   Coach Jessie Hayes  Room 2 
  • 10th Grade:  Coach Elyse McIntyre  Room 17 
  • 11th Grade: Mrs.  Moseley   Room 14 
  • 12th Grade:  Mrs. McClendon Room 12 

Students and parents may tour the building and meet their teachers between 6-7 pm. 

 

The workday on Saturday, August 7th has been cancelled.

For our new families, we have attached information on how to set up a lunchroom account as well as how to create a RenWeb account in order to access your child's grades.

 

Thank you to our Hooper Families who volunteered to be "mentors" for our new families.  If you are a new family and would like to be matched with a mentor, please email Dr. Norman at lnorman@hooperacademy.org. Dr. Norman is also asking that our returning students be as helpful as possible to our new students. They may need help finding their way around a new campus and will certainly have questions. Please make them feel welcome! 

 

HOOPER COLTS SPIRIT PACKS

Pre-order you and your student's tattoo stickers and spirit items using the attached Hooper Colts Spirit Pack Order Form. We have three levels of spirit packs to choose from with items ranging from waterless tattoos, mini footballs, foam fingers, hand fans, shakers, spirit buttons, and more!! Order forms with payment are due WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11th. Cheerleaders will deliver spirit packs to your student's classroom by the first varsity home football game. Show your Colt pride!

 

SPIRIT DRESS UP DAYS

Dress up days for this year are attached. We look forward to seeing all of our Colts decked out each week! 

 

Booster Club ad sales deadline is Friday, August 13th.   The booster club membership form is attached.  Also, our link with Signup Genius to sign up to work concessions is https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040c4bafab2da1fb6-hooper2.  Spots are open and ready for people to start signing up.

Fall sports pictures and ad pictures will be taken on Saturday, August 14th starting at 8:00 am. This does not include volleyball, their pictures will be taken on August 17th along with school pictures and daycare pictures.

We have available for purchase in the office a book titled: Fred Hooper, The Extraordinary Life of a Thoroughbred Legend written by Bill Heller.  Books are available for $20 each and the sales will benefit Hooper Academy.

 

*Work assessment forms must be submitted within 30 days of the date the work was performed.  Otherwise it will be invalid. 

 

Reminder:  Monthly tuition payments are due by the 1st of each month and delinquent after the 15th.  After the 15th of the month a $25.00 late fee will be assessed.  Statements will only be sent if your payment has not been received by the 25th of the month.  If your payment is not received before the 25th a $50.00 late fee will also be assessed.  If the account is not made current by the end of the month, your child/children will not be allowed to attend class.
