Weekly Update


Update for October 5, 2017

 

Everyone please remember to save Box Tops for our school! We need to turn in as many Box Tops as we possibly can by October 13, 2017, so that we can make our November Submission for this year. Turn these into your teacher or to the office. Each box top is worth 10 cents! All of the money that we earn from turning in Box Tops goes right back to the school. Please help us earn money for Hooper!

 

This is just a reminder that cell phones are not allowed to be used during the school day.

 

We are still in need of concession stand workers for all home sporting events.  Please contact the office (334)288-5980 to sign up.

 

Don't forget to purchase your chances for the Big Green Egg.  Drawing to be held Friday, October 13th.

 

We would like to invite everyone to come out and support Hooper Academy Senior Madison Baker at the Distinguished Young Women of Montgomery County pageant at Frazer United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 8th at 2pm and 6:30pm, and again Monday, October 9th at 7pm. The cost for tickets to each performance on October 8 will be $10 and tickets for the October 9th performances will be $15. The Hooper family is proud to have Madison representing us this year. Good luck Madison!

The PTA Fall Festival:

 

The Fall Festival has been set for Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. This year we will be using the Auditorium and the outside area right beside the auditorium for the Fall Festival. The Haunted House will be in the locker rooms and gym area like last year. Booths to be located in the Auditorium will include but are not limited to:

          Concessions

          Cake Walk

          Toy Walk

          Vendors

We need the following:

Prizes:

Each class is responsible for providing the following:

       Three bags of candy to give away for their "trunk or treat" or "booth" (Due by 10/24)

       Two $5-$10 toys for Toy Walk (Due by 10/24)

       Two baked goods - Wrapped for Individual Giveaway for Cake Walk (Due 10/25)

Inflatables:

All Day Inflatables, LLC. has graciously provided two inflatables for the Fall Festival and we will need workers for this activity. If you are in need of work assessment hours - now is the time to get them!! Please contact any member of the PTA Board or the office if you are interested in helping with this activity!!

Concessions:

          We will have light concessions including but not limited to: popcorn, drinks, and cotton candy. We will also need workers for this section. If you are interested, please contact any member of the PTA board or the office!!

Cake Decorating Contest:

          We will have a cake decorating contest again this year! There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!! Please include your name and phone number on your cakes and submit them to the office no later than noon on Thursday, 10/26/17.

Vendors:

          We are excited to open the Fall Festival to vendors again this year. If you are interested in being a vendor or know someone that would like to have a booth, please complete the attached form and submit the $25.00 fee BEFORE the deadline of October 20, 2017.

Tuesday, October 10th - Varsity Volleyball @ Emmanuel starting @ 3:00 p.m.

PeeWee/JV Football @ Macon East starting @ 6:00 p.m.

 

Friday, October 13th - Balfour Senior invitation preview at 8:00 a.m. Balfour Letterjacket preview 9:00 a.m.

Varsity Football vs. Pike starting @ 7:00 p.m.  This is Senior Night, all Senior Football players, Cheerleaders, water girls and their parents will be recognized before the game.  Please meet in front of the home bleachers at 6:20 pm.  Theme is "Redneckinize Your Seniors" dress code must be followed.

 

Thursday, October 19th - Senior Balfour orders are due at 12:15 pm  Letterjacket orders will be placed at 1:00 pm

Senior Parent meeting at 6:00 pm in the auditorium to discuss college application process.

 

Reminder:  Monthly tuition payments are due by the 1st of each month and delinquent after the 15th.  After the 15th of the month a $25.00 late fee will be assessed.  Statements will only be sent if your payment has not been received by the 25th of the month.  If your payment is not received before the 25th a $50.00 late fee will also be assessed.  If the account is not made current by the end of the month, your child/children will not be allowed to attend class.
